But when Esther came before the king, he ordered by letter that the wicked plot which Haman had devised against the Jews should come upon his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.

“Since times of judgment are not kept by the Almighty, why do they who know Him not see His days?

O daughter of Babylon, destined to be destroyed, blessed shall he be who rewards you as you have served us!

The iniquities of the wicked ensnare him, and he is caught in the cords of his sin.

Thus says the Lord: Against all My evil neighbors who touch the inheritance which I have caused My people Israel to inherit, behold, I will pluck them out of their land and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

For thus says the Lord: They whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunk. And are you the one who shall go unpunished altogether? You will not go unpunished, but you will surely drink of it.

Call together the archers against Babylon. All you who bend the bow, encamp against it all around; let no one escape. Recompense her according to her work; according to all that she has done, do to her, for she has been proud against the Lord, against the Holy One of Israel.

Because the destroyer is coming against her, even upon Babylon, and her mighty men will be captured, every one of their bows are broken. For the Lord is a God of recompense; He will completely repay.

For the day is near, even the day of the Lord is near, a cloudy day, it shall be the time of doom for the nations.

therefore, as I live, says the Lord God, I will treat you according to your anger and according to your envy, which you have showed out of your hatred against them. And I will make Myself known among them when I have judged you.

As you rejoiced at the inheritance of the house of Israel because it was desolate, so I will do to you. You shall be a desolation, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.

Alas, for the day! For the day of the Lord is near, and like devastation from the Almighty it comes.

Blow the ram’s horn in Zion, sound the alarm on My holy mountain! All the inhabitants of the earth will tremble, because the day of the Lord has come, because it is near—

The Lord has sounded His voice before His army, for His camp is exceedingly great; mighty is the one who accomplishes His word. For great is the day of the Lord, and very awe-inspiring. Who can endure it?

Woe to you that desire the day of the Lord! Why do you want the day of the Lord? It is darkness, and not light,

Will not the day of the Lord be darkness, and not light? Will it not be deep darkness, with no brightness in it?

And in anger and wrath I will take vengeance on the nations that have not listened.

Because you have plundered many nations, all the remnant of the people will plunder you, because of the bloodshed of men and violence of the land, of the cities and all who live in them.

For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged. And with the measure you use, it will be measured again for you.

For he who has shown no mercy will have judgment without mercy, for mercy triumphs over judgment.

Adoni-Bezek said, “Seventy kings whose thumbs and big toes were cut off once collected scraps of food under my table. Just as I have done, so God has repaid me.” They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.
