On that same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great Euphrates River —
They said, “Your servants are twelve brothers, the sons of one man in the land of Canaan, and behold, the youngest is with our father today, and one is no longer living.”
Thus says the Lord God: This shall be the border by which you shall divide the land for an inheritance according to the twelve tribes of Israel. Joseph shall have two portions.
He stood and measured the earth; He looked and shook the nations. The eternal mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills bowed. His ways are everlasting.
Moses commanded the Israelites, saying: This is the land which you will possess by lot, which the Lord commanded to give to the nine tribes, and to the half-tribe
Command the Israelites, and say to them: When you are going into the land of Canaan, this is the land that will fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan with its borders.
