And Moses gave the money of those who were redeemed to Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses.
So all the Israelites did it. They did just as the Lord commanded Moses and Aaron.
Remember the Law of Moses, My servant, the statutes and judgments which I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.
As the Lord commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the Wilderness of Sinai.
Moses was very angry and said to the Lord, “Do not respect their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, nor have I hurt one of them.”
And you will give the money, by which the number of them is to be redeemed, to Aaron and to his sons.
Of the firstborn of the Israelites he took the money, one thousand three hundred and sixty-five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.
And the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying:
I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing.
If others partake of this right over you, should not we instead? Nevertheless, we have not used this right, but suffer all things, lest we might hinder the gospel of Christ.
Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, take care of them, not by constraint, but willingly, not for dishonest gain, but eagerly.
