The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,
The name of the Midianite woman who was slain was Kozbi the daughter of Zur. He was chief over a people and of a father’s house in Midian.
“Be hostile to the Midianites, and defeat them,
“Avenge the Israelites on the Midianites. Afterward you will be gathered to your people.”
