And now, please come curse this people for me because they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I will prevail, and we will defeat them, and I will drive them out of the land because I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.”

I will bless those who bless you and curse him who curses you, and in you all families of the earth will be blessed.”

because they did not meet the Israelites with bread and water, but hired Balaam to curse them. However, our God turned the curse into a blessing.

Let them curse, but You will bless; when they arise, let them be ashamed, but let Your servant rejoice.

Like a sparrow in its flitting, like a swallow in its flying, a curse without cause shall not alight.
