There must be a priest, a descendant of Aaron, with the Levites when they are collecting tithes, and the Levites will offer one-tenth of the tithes to the house of our God, for the chambers of the storehouse.
It shall be for Aaron and his sons by a statute forever, for it is a contribution. It shall be a contribution from the Israelites from their peace offerings, their contributions to the Lord.
The first of all the firstfruits of all things and every contribution of all of every sort of your gifts shall be the priest’s. You shall also give to the priest the first of your dough to cause a blessing to rest in your house.
You shall eat neither bread nor grain, parched or fresh, until the same day that you have brought an offering to your God. It shall be a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
You will speak to the Levites, and say to them: When you take from the Israelites the tithes that I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you will offer up an offering of it to the Lord, even one-tenth of the tithe.
