Face to face I speak with him clearly, and not in riddles, and the likeness of the Lord will he behold. Then why were you not afraid to speak against My servant, against Moses?”

Jacob called the name of the place Peniel, saying, “I have seen God face to face, and my life has been preserved.”

To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to Him?

To whom will you liken Me, and make Me equal, and compare Me that we may be alike?

Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable to the house of Israel,

Then I said, “Ah, Lord God! They say of me, ‘Does he not speak parables?’ ”

By a prophet the Lord brought Israel up from Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.

and they will say to the inhabitants of this land that they heard that You, Lord, are among this people, that You, Lord, are seen face to face, and Your cloud stands over them, and in the pillar of cloud You go before them by day and by a pillar of fire at night.

And then Moses went into the tent of meeting to speak with Him, and he heard the voice of One speaking to him from the mercy seat that was on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim, and He spoke to him.

to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will say things which have been kept secret since the foundation of the world.”

“He who listens to you listens to Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.”

No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who at the Father’s side, has made Him known.

I no longer call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master does. But I have called you friends, for everything that I have heard from My Father have I made known to you.

If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin. But now have they seen and hated both My Father and Me.

For now we see as through a glass, dimly, but then, face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know, even as I also am known.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord.

The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, like me. You must listen to him.

Since then there has not arisen a prophet in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,

Give good care to yourselves, for you saw no form on the day that the Lord spoke to you in Horeb from the midst of the fire,

You shall not make yourself any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth ;

He is the image of the invisible God and the firstborn of every creature.

Therefore he that despises does not despise man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit.

He alone has immortality, living in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen, nor can see. To Him be honor and everlasting power. Amen.

God, who at various times and in diverse ways spoke long ago to the fathers through the prophets,

He is the brightness of His glory, the express image of Himself, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had by Himself purged our sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

especially those who walk after the flesh in pursuit of unclean desires, and despise authority. They are presumptuous and arrogant, and are not afraid to slander the angelic beings.

Likewise, these ungodly dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and slander celestial beings.
