So the king said to me, “What are you requesting about this matter?” Immediately, I prayed to the God of heaven

So the nations will fear the name of the Lord, and all the kings of the earth Your glory.

Oh give thanks to the God of heaven, for His mercy endures forever.

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and wept when we remembered Zion.

In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three full weeks.

so that they might ask for compassion from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

I set my face toward the Lord God to seek by prayer and supplications with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.

I will gather those who grieve for the appointed festival, which is a reproach and burden on you.

Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.
