Nehemiah 1:11

Modern English Version

O Lord, I implore You, let Your ear be attentive to the prayer of Your servant, and to the prayer of Your servants who delight to revere Your name. And let Your servant prosper this day, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man.” For I was the king’s cupbearer.

“Now, O my God, may Your eyes be open and Your ears attentive to the prayer that I offer in this place.

Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he issued a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also put it in writing, saying,

He also caused them to be pitied by all those who carried them away captive.

Lord, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications!

For You, O God, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those who fear Your name.

Give ear, O  Lord, to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.

because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord.

As rivulets of water is the heart of a king in the hand of the Lord; wherever He pleases is where He directs it.

I will show mercies to you so that he may have mercy on you and cause you to return to your own land.

Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another. The Lord listened and heard them, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name.

Pray for us. For we trust that we have a good conscience and in all things are willing to live honestly.
