The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord avenges and is furious. The Lord takes vengeance on His enemies, and He reserves it for His adversaries;

When he is about to fill his belly, God will cast the fury of His wrath on him and will rain it on him while he is eating.

O  Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs— O God to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth!

You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of them who hate Me,

(for you shall not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God),

keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the children and on the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”

The Lord shall go forth like a mighty man; He shall stir up zeal like a man of war. He shall cry out, yes, raise a war cry; He shall prevail against His enemies.

Awake, awake, stand up, O Jerusalem, you who have drunk at the hand of the Lord the cup of His fury; the cup of reeling you have drained to the dregs.

Your sons have fainted; they lie at the head of all the streets as an antelope in a net; they are full of the fury of the Lord, the rebuke of your God.

For behold, the Lord shall come with fire, and with His chariots like a whirlwind, to render His anger with fury and His rebuke with flames of fire.

For thus says the Lord God of Israel to me: Take the wine cup of this fury at My hand and cause all the nations to whom I send you to drink it.

The prophets of old who have been before me and before you prophesied both against many countries and against great kingdoms, of war and disaster and pestilence.

Shall He reserve His anger forever? Shall He keep it to the end?” Behold, you have spoken, but you have done all the evil things that you could.

Perhaps their supplication will come before the Lord, and everyone will turn from his evil way, for great is the anger and the fury that the Lord has pronounced against this people.”

Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your heart, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, lest My fury come forth like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your deeds.

Shout against her all around; she has given herself up, her foundations have fallen, her walls have been thrown down. For this is the vengeance of the Lord. Take vengeance on her; as she has done, do to her.

The Lord has fulfilled His fury, He has poured out His fierce anger. He kindled a fire in Zion, and it has devoured its foundations.

Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the rivers and to the valleys: Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations.

And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog comes against the land of Israel, says the Lord God, that My fury shall come up in My anger.

For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I have spoken: Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Now I will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel and will be jealous for My holy name.

“Thus My anger shall be accomplished, and I will cause My fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted. Then they shall know that I the Lord have spoken it in My zeal when I have accomplished My fury in them.

He who is far off shall die of pestilence, and he who is near shall fall by the sword, and he who remains and is besieged shall die by famine. Thus I will accomplish My fury upon them.

Therefore I will indeed deal in fury. My eye shall not spare, nor will I have pity. And though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, yet I will not listen to them.”

Then the Lord became jealous for His land and took pity upon His people.

then I will walk contrary to you also in fury, and I Myself will chastise you seven times for your sins.

And in anger and wrath I will take vengeance on the nations that have not listened.

Who is a God like You, bearing iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of His inheritance? He does not remain angry forever, because He delights in benevolence.

So the angel who spoke with me said, Cry out, saying: Thus says the Lord of Hosts: I have a great jealousy for Jerusalem and Zion.

Thus says the Lord of Hosts: I am exceedingly jealous for Zion, and with great wrath I am jealous for her.

“Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned My wrath away from the Israelites, because he was zealous for My sake among them, so I did not exterminate the Israelites in My zeal.

Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to God’s wrath, for it is written: “Vengeance is Mine. I will repay,” says the Lord.

for he is the servant of God for your good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain, for he is the servant of God, an avenger to execute wrath upon him who practices evil.

For the Lord your God is a consuming fire. He is a jealous God.

yet He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him. He will repay him to his face.

For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine,” says the Lord, “I will repay.” And again He says, “The Lord will judge His people.”

Then Joshua said to the people, “You are not able to serve the Lord, for He is a holy God. He is a jealous God, and He will not forgive your transgressions or your sins.

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the Day of Judgment,
