Then my enemy will see, and shame will cover her who said to me, “Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will look upon her; now she will be trampled like muck in the streets.

I crushed them like the dust of the land, like the mud of the streets, I ground them and stamped them down.

Let my accusers be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own shame as with a mantle.

Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?”

Then I beat them fine, like dust before the wind; I cast them out like dirt in the streets.

Let those who rejoice at my calamity be ashamed and brought to confusion; let them be clothed with shame and dishonor who exalt themselves against me.

As a shattering of my bones, my enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, “Where is your God?”

The righteous will rejoice when he sees the vengeance; he will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let the avenging of the shed blood of Your servants be known among the nations before our eyes!

The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

Lord, Your hand is lifted up, but they do not see it. They see Your zeal for the people and are put to shame; the fire of Your enemies shall devour them.

I have raised up one from the north, and he shall come; from the rising of the sun he shall call on My name; and he shall come on princes as on mortar, and as the potter treads clay.

For behold, I will make you small among the nations, and despised among men.

I will render to Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your sight, says the Lord.

We are humiliated because we have heard reproach. Shame has covered our faces, for strangers have come into the holy places of the house of the Lord.

They shall also gird themselves with sackcloth, and horror shall cover them; and shame shall be upon all faces, and baldness upon all their heads.

Now if you are ready at the time you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, very well. But if you do not worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace. And who is that god who can deliver you out of my hands?”

Between the temple porch and the altar, let the priests, ministers of the Lord, weep and say, “Have pity upon Your people, and do not make Your inheritance a disgrace, a mockery among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ ”

For the slaughter and the violence done to your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.

But you should not have gloated on the day of your brother, on the day of his misfortune; you should not have rejoiced over the Judahites on the day of their destruction; you should not have boasted on the day of distress.

But now many nations are gathered against you, saying, “May she be defiled, and may our eyes gaze upon Zion.”

Do not rejoice over me, my enemy! Although I have fallen, I will rise; although I dwell in darkness, the Lord is my light.

The Lord has taken away your judgments, He has cast out your enemies. The King of Israel, the Lord, is in your midst; you will see evil no more.

And they will be as mighty men, who trample down in the muddy streets in battle. They will fight because the Lord is with them, and He will put to shame those riding on horses.

Your eyes will see this, and you will say, “Great is the Lord, beyond the border of Israel!”

And you will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet, on the day when I do this, says the Lord of Hosts.

He trusted in God. Let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’  ”

The Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land may hear, turn on us, and cut off our name from the earth. What will You do for Your great name?”

“Rejoice over her, O heaven and saints and apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you against her.”
