Let your lives be without love of money, and be content with the things you have. For He has said: “I will never leave you, nor forsake you.”

“So is he who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

How much better it is to get wisdom than gold! And to get understanding than silver!

Riches do not profit in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “Yet you lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me.”

Command those who are rich in this world that they not be conceited, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who richly gives us all things to enjoy.

Sell your possessions and give alms. Provide yourselves bags that do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.

Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them on the day of the Lord’s wrath. But the whole earth will be consumed by the fire of His jealousy, for He will make a sudden end of all those who dwell on the earth.

When Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!

Trust not in oppression; put no vain hope in robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

Surely every man walks around like a shadow; surely they make an uproar in vain; he heaps up riches, and does not know who will gather them.

Jesus said to him, “If you would be complete, go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me.”

“If I have made gold my hope, or have said to the fine gold, ‘You are my confidence’;

To the person who is pleasing before Him, God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy, but to the one who sins, He gives the task to gather and collect, to give to the other person who is pleasing before God. This also is vanity and a chasing after wind.

If a thief is caught breaking in and is struck so that he dies, then there will be no blood guilt for him.

In the dark they break into houses, which they had marked for themselves in the daytime; they do not know the light.

But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroy and where thieves do not break in nor steal,

But know this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched and not have allowed his house to be broken into.
