There were present at that time some who told Him of the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.

Then the whole assembly rose and led Him to Pilate.

On the same day Pilate and Herod became friends with each other, having previously been at enmity with each other.

In the fifteenth year of the reign of Caesar Tiberius, Pontius Pilate was governor of Judea, Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, his brother Philip was tetrarch of Iturea and the region of Traconitis, and Lysanias was the tetrarch of Abilene.

Then the detachment of soldiers and the commander and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.

Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

Then they led Jesus from Caiaphas to the Praetorium. It was early. Yet they themselves did not enter the Praetorium, so that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.

The very night when Herod would have brought him out, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains. And the guards before the door were securing the prison.

Then the commander came and arrested him, and ordered that he be bound with two chains. Then he asked who he was and what he had done.

As they stretched him forward with straps, Paul said to the centurion standing by, “Is it legal for you to flog an uncondemned Roman citizen?”

Therefore those who were about to examine Paul immediately backed away from him. And the commander feared, knowing that he was a Roman citizen, and because he had bound him.

But after two years Porcius Festus succeeded Felix. And Felix, desiring to do the Jews a favor, left Paul imprisoned.

For this reason I have asked to see you and speak with you, because I am bound with this chain for the hope of Israel.”

The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son Jesus, whom you handed over and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to release Him.

Indeed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were assembled together against Your holy Son Jesus whom You have anointed,

and requested letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any there of the Way, either men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.

I command you, in the sight of God, who gives life to all things, and in the sight of Christ Jesus, who testified a good confession before Pontius Pilate,

in which I suffer trouble like a criminal, even with chains. But the word of God is not bound.

Remember those who are in chains, as if imprisoned with them, and those who are ill treated, since you are also in the body.

They said to him, “We have come to take you prisoner, to give you into the hands of the Philistines.” Samson said to them, “Swear to me that you will not attack me.”
