Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law by being made a curse for us—as it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree” —

In Him we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace,

Walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us as a fragrant offering and a sacrifice to God.

who gave Himself as a ransom for all. This was the testimony given at the proper time.

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for Himself a special people, zealous of good works.

For it was fitting for Him, for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the author of their salvation complete through suffering.

Though He was a Son, He learned obedience through the things that He suffered,

so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many, and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin but to save those who eagerly wait for Him.

He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness. “By His wounds you were healed.”

For Christ also has once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive by the Spirit,

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood,
