Jesus said to him, “If you would be complete, go and sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me.”

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am Almighty God. Walk before Me and be blameless.

These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a just man and blameless among his contemporaries. Noah walked with God.

There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, fearing God and avoiding evil.

Mark the blameless man, and behold the upright, for there is a future for the man of peace.

Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.

The young man said to Him, “All these I have kept from my youth. What do I still lack?”

But when the young man heard this, he went away sorrowful. For he had great possessions.

Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, in the renewed age, when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

And He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

Therefore be complete, even as your Father who is in heaven is complete.

But Jesus said to him, “Follow Me, and let the dead bury their dead.”

As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s station. And He said to him, “Follow Me.” And he rose and followed Him.

Then Jesus, looking upon him, loved him and said to him, “You lack one thing: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, take up the cross and follow Me.”

As He passed by, He saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the tax collector’s station, and He said to him, “Follow Me.” And he rose and followed Him.

When He had called the people to Him, with His disciples, He said to them, “If any man would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me.

Sell your possessions and give alms. Provide yourselves bags that do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys.

So likewise, any of you who does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.

I say to you, make friends for yourself by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when you fall short, they may receive you into eternal dwellings.

When Jesus heard this, He said to him, “Yet you lack one thing. Sell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. And come, follow Me.”

After these things He went out and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax collector’s station. He said to him, “Follow Me.”

The disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is trained will be like his teacher.

Then He said to them all, “If anyone will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me. Where I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.

They sold their property and goods and distributed them to all, according to their need.

For you had compassion on me in my chains and joyfully endured the confiscation of your property, knowing that you have in heaven a better and an enduring possession for yourselves.
