Peter answered Him, “Lord, if it is You, bid me come to You on the water.”
But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer. It is I. Do not be afraid.”
He said, “Come.” And when Peter got out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus.
Then Peter said in reply to Him, “See, we have left everything and followed You. What then shall we have?”
But he said more vehemently, “If I must die with You, I will not deny You.” They all said the same thing.
Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sound judgment, according to the measure of faith God has distributed to every man.
But let him ask in faith, without wavering. For he who wavers is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed with the wind.
