Now when John had heard in prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations, from David until the exile to Babylon are fourteen generations, and from the exile in Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.
For Herod had laid hold of John, bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.
Now when Jesus heard that John was put in prison, He left for Galilee.
Then the disciples of John came to Him, asking, “Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but Your disciples do not fast?”

Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by Him. And he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead,
Now when the Lord learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John
