Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother; James, the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother;

After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother and brought them up to a high mountain alone,

Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to Him with her sons. And kneeling before Him, she asked for a certain thing.

He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee and began to be sorrowful and troubled.

As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, throwing a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

And going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, and He called them.

When He came out of the synagogue with James and John, they went directly to the house of Simon and Andrew.

As He sat on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him privately,

The apostles met with Jesus and told him everything, both what they had done and what they had taught.

Therefore also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will kill and persecute,’

When the hour had come, He and the twelve apostles with Him sat down.

He sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us to eat it.”

and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Do not fear. From now on you will catch men.”

When the apostles returned, they told Jesus all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.

Philip came and told Andrew, and in turn Andrew and Philip told Jesus.

Now there was leaning to the right of Jesus one of His disciples whom Jesus loved.

So she came running to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have put Him.”

Simon Peter; Thomas, called Didymus; Nathanael of Cana in Galilee; the sons of Zebedee; and two more of His disciples were together.

Peter turned and saw following them the disciple whom Jesus loved, who also leaned against His chest at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is it that is going to betray You?”

This is the disciple who testifies about these things, and wrote these things. We know that his testimony is true.

So Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”

Jesus answered them, “Have I not chosen you, the twelve, and yet one of you is a devil?”

He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. For it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve.

One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him,

When they had entered, they went up into the upper room, where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James.

Then they cast lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. So he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

He killed James, the brother of John, with the sword.

Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the ninth hour, the hour of prayer.

Then He was seen by James and then by all the apostles.

He gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers,

Therefore, holy brothers, partakers in a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Jesus Christ,

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To the refugees scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith as precious as ours through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.

The elder, To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth, and not I only, but also all those who know the truth,

The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him to show to His servants things which must soon take place. He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John,

I, John, both your brother and companion in the persecution and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the isle that is called Patmos on account of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

“Rejoice over her, O heaven and saints and apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you against her.”

I, John, am he who saw and heard these things. When I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who showed me these things.
