When He came to His other disciples, He saw a great crowd around them, and the scribes disputing with them.
and said, “By what authority are You doing these things, and who gave You this authority to do them?”
When they came to Him, they said, “Teacher, we know that You are true and swayed by no man. For You do not regard the person of men, but truthfully teach the way of God. Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?
But some of the scribes were sitting there, reasoning in their hearts,
But I say to you that Elijah has indeed come, and they have done to him whatever they wished, as it is written of him.”
He went into the synagogue and spoke boldly for three months, lecturing and persuading concerning the kingdom of God.
For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and your hearts give up.
