He commanded them to take nothing for their journey except a staff: no bag, no bread, and no money in their belt,

but to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics.

Carry no bag, no pouch, no shoes, and greet no one on the road.

Then He said to them, “When I sent you without bag or pouch or sandals, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”

He said to them, “Take nothing for your journey: no staff, no bag, no bread, no money. And do not take two tunics apiece.
