When He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch your hand forward.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.

They removed the foreign gods from among them and worshipped the Lord, and He could no longer endure the suffering of Israel.

The Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and it grieved Him in His heart.

Therefore I was angry with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they have not known My ways.’

Then He said to them, “Is it lawful to do good or to do evil on the Sabbath, to save life or to kill?” But they kept silent.

And Jonathan arose from the table in fierce anger and did not eat food on the second day of the month. For he was grieved for David, because his father had dishonored him.
