We will surely die and are like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again. Yet God does not take away a life; He devises plans so that His banished ones will not be cast out from Him.

He will not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord.

Though an army may encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war may rise against me, yet I will be confident.

Do not be afraid of sudden terror or of the desolation by the wicked when it comes,

You should not say, “It is a conspiracy,” concerning all that this people calls a conspiracy, neither fear their threats nor be afraid of them.

Let not your heart grow faint, and be not afraid at the report that will be heard in the land, when the report comes in one year, and after that a report in another year, and violence is in the land, ruler against ruler.

Woe to the world because of temptations! For it must be that temptations come, but woe to that man by whom the temptation comes!

When Herod the king heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

Many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many.

For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginning of sorrows.

“Let not your heart be troubled. You believe in God. Believe also in Me.

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
