So Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Behold, the blood of the covenant that the Lord has made with you in accordance with all these words.”
In the same manner He took the cup after He had supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
For this reason He is the Mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the sins that were committed under the first covenant, so that those who are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
