So he called one of the servants and asked what this meant.

“Now his older son was in the field. As he came and drew near the house, he heard music and dancing.

He said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him safe and sound.’

Hearing a crowd passing by, he asked what it meant.

They were all amazed and perplexed, saying to each other, “What does this mean?”
