Then Leah said, “Happy am I, for women will call me happy.” So she called his name Asher.

Now therefore, you will say to My servant David: Thus says the Lord of Hosts: I took you from the pasture, from following after the sheep, to be ruler over My people Israel.

He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and will not despise their prayer.

It is He who remembered us in our low estate, for His mercy endures forever;

Though the Lord is exalted, yet has He regard for the lowly, but the proud He knows from afar.

May his name endure forever; may his name continue as long as the sun shines. And may men be blessed in him; and may all nations call him blessed!

For My hand made all those things, thus all those things have come to be, says the Lord. But to this man I will look, even to him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembles at My word.

Then all the nations will call you blessed, for you will be a delightful land, says the Lord of Hosts.

The angel came to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women.”

She spoke out with a loud voice, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!

Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a completion to those things which were told her by the Lord.”

For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.

As He spoke these things, a woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, “Blessed is the woman who gave You birth and nursed You.”

So she made a vow and said, “O  Lord of Hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant, and remember me and not forget Your maidservant, but will give to Your maidservant a baby boy, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall touch his head.”

He raises up the poor out of the dust and lifts up the oppressed from the dunghill to make them sit with princes and inherit a throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth belong to the Lord, and He has set the world upon them.
