Remember, O  Lord, what has come upon us; look, and see our reproach!

They said to me, “The remnant that returned from captivity is there in the province enduring great affliction and reproach. Also, the wall of Jerusalem remains broken down, and its gates have been burned with fire.”

“Please remember the word that You commanded Your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you behave unfaithfully, then I will scatter you among the nations,

Hear, O our God, that we are despised. Turn their reproach back upon their own head, and give them as spoil in a land of captivity:

Remember, I pray, that You have made me as the clay. And would You return me to dust?

Oh, remember that my life is a breath! My eye will never again see good.

Consider my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget Your law.

Remember this, that the enemy has reviled, O  Lord, and that a foolish people has blasphemed Your name.

And render to our neighbors sevenfold into their lap the reproach with which they have reproached You, O Lord.

We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and derision to those who are around us.

I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem, who shall never hold their peace day or night. You who remind the Lord, do not keep silent;

O  Lord, You who know, remember me, and take notice of me, and take vengeance on my persecutors. Because of your longsuffering, do not take me away. Know that for Your sake I have suffered rebuke.

We are humiliated because we have heard reproach. Shame has covered our faces, for strangers have come into the holy places of the house of the Lord.

All her people groan, as they search for bread; they trade their treasures for food to restore their strength. Look, O  Lord, and consider, for I am despised.

Look, O  Lord, for I am in distress; my soul is greatly troubled; my heart is overturned within me, for I have grievously rebelled. In the street the sword bereaves, at home it is like death.

Her uncleanness is in her skirts; she took no thought of her future; therefore her fall is astounding; she has no comforter. “O  Lord, look upon my affliction, for the enemy has triumphed!”

All who pass by clap their hands at you; they hiss and shake their heads at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, “Is this the city that men call the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?”

Look, O  Lord, and consider! To whom have You done this? Should the women eat their offspring, the children who were born healthy? Should the priest and the prophet be killed in the sanctuary of the Lord?

Remember my affliction and my wandering, the wormwood and the gall.

until the Lord from heaven looks down and sees.

You have heard their reproach, O  Lord, all their schemes against me,

O  Lord, I have heard the report of You, and was afraid; O  Lord, revive Your work in the midst of the years! In the midst of these years make them known; in wrath remember mercy.

Then he said to Jesus, “Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.”
