The Lord has scorned His altar, He has disowned His sanctuary; He has given up the walls of her palaces into the hand of the enemy. They have made a noise in the house of the Lord as on the day of a solemn feast.

Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will profane My sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes and the delight of your soul. And your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind shall fall by the sword.

So I will send fire against Judah, and it will devour the fortresses of Jerusalem.

and burned the house of the Lord, and the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem. Even all the large houses, he burned with fire.

Jesus answered them, “Do you not see all these things? Truly I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another that shall not be thrown down.”

Therefore, because of you, Zion will be plowed like a field, Jerusalem will be mounds of ruins, and the mountain of the house will become wooded heights.

Therefore I will bring the worst of the nations, and they shall possess their houses; I will also make the pomp of the strong to cease, and their holy places shall be defiled.

The Lord has become like an enemy; He has swallowed up Israel, He has swallowed up all her palaces; He has destroyed her strongholds, and has increased mourning and lamentation in the daughter of Judah.

How the Lord has covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in His anger! He has cast down from heaven to the earth the beauty of Israel; He has not remembered His footstool in the day of His anger.

The Chaldeans burned the king’s house and the houses of the people with fire and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.

And the Chaldeans who fight against this city will come and set this city on fire and burn it with the houses, upon whose roofs they have offered incense to Baal and poured out drink offerings to other gods, to provoke Me to anger.

“Micah of Moresheth prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of Hosts: Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.’

then I will make this house like Shiloh and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.

So they burned down the house of God, tore down the wall of Jerusalem, burned down all the palaces with fire, and destroyed all the precious items.

Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not cast them away, nor will I abhor them to destroy them utterly and to break My covenant with them, for I am the Lord their God.

I will make your cities a waste and bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the aroma of your fragrant offerings.

You have renounced the covenant with Your servant; You have defiled his crown by casting it to the ground.

Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands with which you fight against the king of Babylon and against the Chaldeans who besiege you outside the walls; and I will assemble them into the midst of this city.

There is the sound of those who flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, the vengeance of His temple.

The roads to Zion mourn because no one comes to the solemn feasts. All her gates are desolate; her priests sigh, her virgins are afflicted, and she herself suffers bitterly.

He burned the house of the Lord, the king’s house, and all the houses of Jerusalem. Every great house he burned with fire.

Do not be wrathful beyond measure, O  Lord, nor remember iniquity forever. Behold, look upon us, we pray, for we all are Your people.

I looked, and behold, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities were broken down at the presence of the Lord, and by His fierce anger.

For thus says the Lord: The whole land shall be desolate. Yet I will not make a full end.
