They say to their mothers, “Where is grain and wine?” when they faint like a wounded man in the streets of the city, as their life is poured out on their mothers’ bosom.
When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I would go with the throng of people, and lead them in procession to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping festival.
Your sons have fainted; they lie at the head of all the streets as an antelope in a net; they are full of the fury of the Lord, the rebuke of your God.

They will eat up your harvest and your bread which your sons and your daughters should eat. They will eat up your flocks and your herds; they will eat up your vines and your fig trees; they will impoverish your fenced cities, in which you trusted, with the sword.
All her people groan, as they search for bread; they trade their treasures for food to restore their strength. Look, O Lord, and consider, for I am despised.
For I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon and put My sword in his hand. But I will break the arms of Pharaoh so that he groans before him with the groanings of a wounded man.
