Now when Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing in front of him with his sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said, “Are You for us, or for our enemies?”

The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great oak trees of Mamre while he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day.

The Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have given Jericho, its king, and mighty men of valor into your hand.

and in the midst of the seven candlesticks was one like a Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and with a golden sash wrapped around the chest.

So Manoah got up and went after his wife. He came to the man and said to him, “Are you the man who spoke to my wife?” He said, “I am.”

Manoah said to his wife, “We are certainly going to die, for we have seen God.”
