Then they insulted him and said, “You are His disciple, but we are Moses’ disciples.
Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is My law; do not fear the reproach of men nor be afraid of their revilings.
Those who passed by insulted Him, shaking their heads,
“Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
Did Moses not give you the law, and yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”
They answered him, “You were completely born in sin. Are you teaching us?” And they threw him out.
Indeed you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and make your boast in God.
We labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless. Being persecuted, we endure.
nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
When He was reviled, He did not revile back; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but He entrusted Himself to Him who judges righteously.
