There was much complaining among the people concerning Him. For some said, “He is a good Man.” Others said, “No, He deceives the people.”

It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they call those of his household?

But as they tried to arrest Him, they feared the crowds, because they held Him as a prophet.

Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone.

Fear came on everyone. And they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen up among us!” and “God has visited His people!”

When those men saw the sign which He had done, they then said, “This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

The Pharisees heard the people murmuring these things concerning Him. So the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to arrest Him.

Then the Pharisees answered them, “Are you also deceived?

They said to him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search and see that no prophet arises out of Galilee.”

Some of the Pharisees said, “This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath day.” Others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” So there was division among them.

For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And many people were added to the Lord.

Rarely for a righteous man will one die. Yet perhaps for a good man some would even dare to die.

Do all things without murmuring and disputing,
