Truly, truly I say to you, the hour is coming, and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.

But it was fitting to be merry and be glad, for this brother of yours was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ ”

Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But you go and preach the kingdom of God.”

Now before the Passover Feast, Jesus knew that His hour had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

When Jesus spoke these words, He lifted His eyes toward heaven and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You.

Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.

Yet the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. For the Father seeks such to worship Him.

For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.

“Do not marvel at this. For the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice

When they heard this, many of His disciples said, “This is a hard saying. Who can listen to it?”

Why do you not understand My speaking? Because you cannot bear to hear My word.

He who is of God hears God’s words. Therefore, you do not hear them, because you are not of God.”

He answered them, “I told you already, and you did not listen. Why do you want to hear it again? Do you also want to become His disciples?”

Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,

even when we were dead in sins, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has resurrected together with Him, having forgiven you all sins.

“To the angel of the church in Sardis write: “He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars says these things: I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.
