Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he put on his outer garment, for he had taken it off, and jumped into the sea.

This was the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.

Many waters cannot quench love, nor can rivers sweep it away. If a man were to give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised.

If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say ‘The Lord has need of it,’ and immediately he will send it here.”

Now there was leaning to the right of Jesus one of His disciples whom Jesus loved.

When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”

So she came running to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have put Him.”

When He had said this, He showed them His hands and His side. The disciples were then glad when they saw the Lord.

Thomas answered Him, “My Lord and my God!”

Peter turned and saw following them the disciple whom Jesus loved, who also leaned against His chest at the supper and had said, “Lord, who is it that is going to betray You?”

This is the disciple who testifies about these things, and wrote these things. We know that his testimony is true.

The other disciples came in the little boat, dragging the net full of fish. For they were not far from land, but about three hundred feet away.

The word which He sent to the Israelites, preaching peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all,

“Therefore, let all the house of Israel assuredly know that God has made this Jesus, whom you have crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second man was the Lord from heaven.

For the love of Christ constrains us, because we thus judge: that if one died for all, then all have died.

My brothers, have faith in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, without partiality.
