To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name, and he leads them out.

Then Jesus turned, saw them following, and said to them, “What do you seek?” And they said to Him, “Rabbi” (which means Teacher), “where are You staying?”

When she had said this, she went her way and secretly called her sister Mary, saying, “The Teacher has come and is calling for you.”

He came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher who has come from God. For no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”

But Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things.

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Be of good cheer. It is I. Do not be afraid.”

I had just left them when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him and would not let him go until I brought him to my mother’s house, and into the room of her who conceived me.

The Lord came and stood, and He called as at other times, “Samuel, Samuel.” Then Samuel said, “Speak, for Your servant listens.”

The Lord called Samuel again. So Samuel arose and went to Eli, and said, “Here I am, for you called me.” And he answered, “I did not call, my son. Return, lie down again.”

The Lord said to Moses, “I will do this thing of which you have spoken, for you have found favor in My sight, and I know you by name.”

When the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him from out of the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses.” And he said, “Here I am.”

“Your eyes and the eyes of my brother Benjamin see that it is my mouth that is speaking to you.

After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here I am.”

Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabbi, that I might receive my sight.”
