But I do as the Father has commanded Me so that the world may know that I love the Father. “Rise, let us go from here.

No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it up again. I received this command from My Father.”

And being found in the form of a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death, even death on a cross.

For I have not spoken on My own authority, but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak.

He went a little farther, and falling on His face, He prayed, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me. Nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”

Rise, let us be going. Look, he who betrays Me is at hand.”

The Lord God has opened my ear, and I was not rebellious, nor did I turn back.

Now before the Passover Feast, Jesus knew that His hour had come to depart from this world to the Father. Having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.
