The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom He spoke.
Now when Jacob saw that there was grain in Egypt, Jacob said to his sons, “Why do you look at one another?”
And as they were eating, He said, “Truly I say to you, one of you will betray Me.”
They were very sorrowful, and each of them began saying to Him, “Lord, is it I?”
As they sat and ate, Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, one of you who is eating with Me will betray Me.”
They began to be sorrowful and to say to Him one by one, “Is it I?” and another, “Is it I?”
But behold, the hand of him who betrays Me is with Me on the table.
They began to inquire among themselves which of them it was who would do this.
“I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen, but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.’
When Jesus had said this, He was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Truly, truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me.”
