“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, lest they should see with their eyes and perceive with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.”

I said, “Lord, be merciful to me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”

Be gracious to me, O  Lord, for I am weak; O  Lord, heal me, for my bones are shaking.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the heart of his servants, that I might show these signs of Mine before him,

So Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh, and the Lord hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he would not let the Israelites go out of his land.

As for Me, surely, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, so that they shall follow them, and I will be honored through Pharaoh, through all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.

So I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, so that he shall pursue them. And I will be honored because of Pharaoh and because of all his army, so that the Egyptians may know that I am the Lord. And they did so.

The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the Israelites. However, the Israelites went out with confidence.

The Lord said to Moses, “When you go to return into Egypt, see that you do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart, so that he shall not let the people go.

Nonetheless, Pharaoh’s heart hardened so that he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.

Moreover, the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh, so that he did not listen to them, just as the Lord had spoken to Moses.

Lord, Your hand is lifted up, but they do not see it. They see Your zeal for the people and are put to shame; the fire of Your enemies shall devour them.

For the Lord has poured out on you the spirit of deep sleep and has closed your eyes, the prophets; and He has covered your heads, the seers.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed.

Make the heart of this people dull, and their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn and be healed.”

He said, “Go, and tell this people: ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; keep on seeing, but do not perceive.’

Return, O backsliding sons, and I will heal your backslidings. “Behold, we come to You, for You are the Lord our God.

Hear this now, O foolish people and without understanding, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear.

Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which has eyes to see and does not see, ears to hear and does not hear, for they are a rebellious house.

And if the prophet is deceived when he has spoken a word, I the Lord have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out My hand against him and will destroy him from the midst of My people Israel.

I will heal their backsliding; I will love them freely, for My anger has turned away from him.

Come, let us return to the Lord, for He has torn, and He will heal us. He has struck, and He will bind us up.

Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into the ditch.”

so that ‘seeing they may see, and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand; lest they should turn, and their sins be forgiven them.’ ”

For they had not comprehended the miracle of the loaves, for their hearts were hardened.

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed;

He said, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God, but to others they are in parables, so that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

Therefore they could not believe. For Isaiah said again:

Jesus said, “I came into this world for judgment, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind.”

So being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles, and they brought great joy to all the brothers.

‘Go to this people and say: You shall certainly hear, but never understand; and you shall certainly see, but never perceive;

Therefore repent and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,

Therefore He has mercy on whom He wills, and He hardens whom He wills.

Yet to this day the Lord has not given you a heart to know, eyes to see, and ears to hear.

because the Lord hardened their hearts to engage Israel in battle. They destroyed them without mercy, to put them to death, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
