Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees.
You blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may also be clean.

They asked him, “Why do you baptize then, if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit. But the Pharisees acknowledge them all.
They knew me from the beginning and could testify, if they wished, how according to the strictest sect of our religion I lived as a Pharisee.
