Between the temple porch and the altar, let the priests, ministers of the Lord, weep and say, “Have pity upon Your people, and do not make Your inheritance a disgrace, a mockery among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’ ”

The porch in front of the temple was twenty cubits in length, the same as the width of the house, and ten cubits deep in front of the house.

then I will cut Israel out of the land which I have given them, and I will cast this house, which I have consecrated for My name, out of My sight, and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people.

then I will uproot them from My land that I have given to them; and the house that I have consecrated for My name, I will throw it from before Me and set it as a proverb and taunt among the peoples.

Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?”

As a shattering of my bones, my enemies reproach me, while they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?”

Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise Him, my salvation and my God.

My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, “Where is your God?”

When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I would go with the throng of people, and lead them in procession to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping festival.

O God, how long will the adversary revile? Will the enemy blaspheme Your name forever?

Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?” Let the avenging of the shed blood of Your servants be known among the nations before our eyes!

We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and derision to those who are around us.

All who pass by plunder him; he is a reproach to his neighbors.

with which Your enemies have reproached, O  Lord, with which they have reproached the footsteps of Your anointed.

He said, “If now I have found favor in Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray, go among us, for we are a stiff-necked people. Pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

In that day the Lord God of Hosts called you to weeping and mourning, and to tear your hair and wear sackcloth.

Now, O  Lord our God, save us from his hand that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You alone, Lord, are God.”

But I acted for My name’s sake, that it should not be polluted before the nations among whom they were, in whose sight I made Myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

He brought me into the inner court of the house of the Lord, and behold, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east. And they worshipped the sun toward the east.

Take words with you and return to the Lord. Say to Him, “Take away all iniquity, and accept that which is good; and we will offer the fruit of our lips!

Put on sackcloth and lament, O priests; wail, ministers of the altar. Come, spend the night in sackcloth, ministers of my God, because the grain offering and the drink offering are withheld from the house of your God.

The grain offering and the drink offering are cut off from the house of the Lord; the priests mourn, who are ministers to the Lord.

When they had finished devouring the foliage of the land, I said, “O Lord God, please forgive. How can Jacob survive? For he is small.”

I said, “O Lord God, please stop. How can Jacob survive? For he is small.”

Then my enemy will see, and shame will cover her who said to me, “Where is the Lord your God?” My eyes will look upon her; now she will be trampled like muck in the streets.

But now entreat God’s favor, that He may be gracious to us. With such offerings from your hands, will He accept you favorably? says the Lord of Hosts.

And behold, one of the Israelites came and brought to his brothers a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses, in the sight of all the assembly of the Israelites, who were weeping before the door of the tent of meeting.

that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

He trusted in God. Let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. For He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’  ”

You will become a horror, a proverb, and an object of ridicule among all nations where the Lord shall lead you.

however, I feared the wrath of the enemy, that their adversaries would misunderstand and say, “Our hand is victorious, and the Lord has not done all this.”

The Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land may hear, turn on us, and cut off our name from the earth. What will You do for Your great name?”
