Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him, but I will defend my own ways before Him.

The waters wear away the stones; its overflow washes away the dust of the earth; and You destroy the hope of man.

“For when a few years have passed, I will go the way from which I will not return.

“My spirit is broken, my days are extinguished, the grave is ready for me.

My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.

Where now is my hope? As for my hope, who will see it?

Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be sober, and set your hope fully upon the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
