For the arrows of the Almighty are within me; my spirit drinks in their poison; the terrors of God are arrayed against me.

He sent out His arrows and scattered the enemy; He shot out lightnings and vanquished them.

He has prepared for Himself deadly weapons; He makes His arrows flaming shafts.

For destruction from God is a terror to me, and because of His highness I cannot endure.

Let their eyes see their own destruction, and let them drink of the wrath of the Almighty.

I will make My arrows drunk with blood, and My sword shall devour flesh, with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the heads of the leaders of the enemies.

But she said to them, “Do not call me Naomi. Call me Mara, because the Almighty has brought great bitterness to me.

He will suck the poison of cobras; the viper’s tongue will slay him.

Should I lie concerning my right? My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.’

As often as it passes through, it shall seize you; for morning by morning it shall pass through, anytime by day or night. It shall be terror only to understand the report.

He has bent His bow like an enemy, with his right hand set like an adversary; He has killed all who were pleasant to His eye; in the tabernacle of the daughter of Zion, He has poured out His fury like fire.

Have I sinned? What am I doing to You, O You watcher of men? Why have You set me as Your target, so that I am a burden to myself?

He has torn me in His wrath, and He has carried a grudge against me. He has gnashed me with His teeth; my enemy sharpens His gaze upon me.

His troops come together and build up their road against me; they set up camp all around my tent.

There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation, nor is there health in my bones because of my sin.

The heart knows its own grief, and in its joy, a stranger cannot share.

Surely against me has He turned His hand continually, the whole day long.
