Who has divided a channel for the overflowing waters, or a path for the thunderbolt,

When He made a decree for the rain, and a path for the lightning of the thunder,

By what way is the light diffused, or the east wind scattered upon the earth?

to cause it to rain on the earth where no man is, on the wilderness in which there are no people,

It is He who causes the mist to ascend from the ends of the earth, who makes lightning for the rain, and brings forth the wind from His treasuries.
