Behold, God is great, and we do not know Him, nor can the number of His years be searched out.
“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less can this house that I have built?
Are Your days as the days of man? Are Your years as the days of a mortal,
Indeed, these are but a part of His ways, and how small a whisper we hear of Him! But the thunder of His power who can understand?”
Every man may see it; man may behold it from afar.
“For He draws up the drops of water; they distill rain according to its mist,
Concerning the Almighty, we cannot find Him out; He is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in much righteousness He will not oppress.
God thunders marvelously with His voice; He does great things that we cannot comprehend.
Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised! His greatness is unsearchable.
Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting, You are God.
For now we see as through a glass, dimly, but then, face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know, even as I also am known.
as a cloak You will fold them up, and they will be changed. But You are the same, and Your years will not end.”
But, beloved, do not be ignorant of this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as one thousand years, and one thousand years as one day.
