But if they do not obey, they will perish by the sword, and they will die without knowledge.

He does not believe that he will return from darkness, and a sword awaits him.

He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.

“But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath; they do not cry out when He binds them.

Are not their tent ropes plucked up, so they die, even without wisdom?’

He will die for lack of discipline, and in the greatness of his folly he will go astray.

but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.

Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

They do not jostle one another; each marches in his track. Through the weapons they plunge; they do not break rank.

But if you still do wickedly, both you and your king will be swept away.”
