“For Job has said, ‘I am righteous, but God has taken away my judgment.
You know that I am not wicked, and there is none who can deliver out of Your hand.
For you have said, ‘My teaching is pure, And I am clean in your eyes.’
Behold, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be justified.
though not for any violence in my hands, and my prayer is pure.
“Behold, I cry out concerning wrong, but I am not heard; I cry aloud, but there is no justice.
“As God lives, who has taken away my judgment, and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,
I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my judgment was like a robe and a diadem.
So these three men ceased answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
‘I am clean, without transgression; I am innocent, nor is there iniquity in me.
Let us choose justice for ourselves; let us know among ourselves what is good.
Turn, I pray, let there be no injustice! Yes, turn again, my righteousness still stands!
Does God pervert judgment? Or does the Almighty pervert justice?
For He crushes me with a storm and multiplies my wounds without cause.
Why do you say, O Jacob, and assert, O Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord, and my justice escapes the notice of my God”?
