My words will be from the uprightness of my heart, and my lips will utter knowledge clearly.
“Should a wise man reply with empty knowledge and fill his lungs with the east wind?
my lips will not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
Let me not, I pray, show partiality to anyone, nor let me give flattering titles to man.
For I do not know how to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
Behold, now I have opened my mouth; my tongue has spoken in my mouth.
“Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
“And now, please give me your attention, for surely I will not lie to you.
The tongue of the wise uses knowledge aright, but the mouth of fools pours out folly.
The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, but not so the heart of fools.
There is gold and a multitude of rubies, but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
for I give you good teaching; do not forsake my teaching.
