Then the wrath of Elihu the son of Barakel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was aroused; his wrath was aroused against Job because he justified himself rather than God.

Is it good for You that You should oppress, that You should despise the work of Your hands and smile on the counsel of the wicked?

For your mouth utters your iniquity, and you choose the tongue of the crafty.

Is not your wickedness great, and your iniquity infinite?

“As God lives, who has taken away my judgment, and the Almighty, who has made my soul bitter,

God forbid that I should justify you. Until I die I will not put away my integrity from me.

My righteousness I hold fast and will not let it go; my heart will not reproach me as long as I live.

You have become cruel to me; with Your strong hand You oppose me.

His wrath was aroused also against his three friends because they had found no answer and yet had condemned Job.

“Surely you have spoken in my hearing, and I have heard the sound of your words, saying,

“Do you think this is right, that you say, ‘My righteousness is before God’?

“Will you indeed annul My judgment? Will you condemn Me, that you may be righteous?

for zeal for Your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen upon me.

When He had looked around at them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, He said to the man, “Stretch your hand forward.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.

But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”

Be angry but do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your anger.
