So these three men ceased answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
I will say to God, Do not condemn me; show me why You contend with me.
You know that I am not wicked, and there is none who can deliver out of Your hand.
Though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him, but I will defend my own ways before Him.
Behold, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be justified.
For your mouth utters your iniquity, and you choose the tongue of the crafty.
Is not your wickedness great, and your iniquity infinite?
There the righteous might dispute with Him; so would I be delivered forever from my Judge.
“Surely you have spoken in my hearing, and I have heard the sound of your words, saying,
‘I am clean, without transgression; I am innocent, nor is there iniquity in me.
“Will you indeed annul My judgment? Will you condemn Me, that you may be righteous?
Turn, I pray, let there be no injustice! Yes, turn again, my righteousness still stands!
