How have you counseled him who has no wisdom? And how have you plentifully declared sound knowledge?
“No doubt but you are the people, and wisdom will die with you!
But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Yes, who does not know such things as these?
Oh, that you would altogether hold your peace, and it would be your wisdom!
“But as for you all, return and come now, for I cannot find one wise man among you.
“How have you helped him who is without power? How have you saved the arm that has no strength?
To whom have you uttered words? And whose breath came from you?
My words will be from the uprightness of my heart, and my lips will utter knowledge clearly.
If not, listen to me; hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom.”
“Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge?
Is there no help within me? And is success banished from me?
I did not keep from declaring what was beneficial to you, and teaching you publicly and from house to house,
For I did not keep from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.
