Also the eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, ‘No eye will see me’; and he disguises his face.

He says in his heart, “God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see it.”

Then He said to me, “The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great, and the land is full of blood, and the city is full of perverseness, for they say, ‘The Lord has forsaken the land, and the Lord does not see.’

Then He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his images? For they say, ‘The Lord does not see us. The Lord has forsaken the land.’ ”

Yet they say, “The Lord does not see, nor does the God of Jacob perceive.”

They say, “How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?”

When you see a thief, you are pleased with him, and you partake with adulterers.

Although you did it secretly, I will do this thing before all of Israel, and under the sun.”

You shall not commit adultery.

“If my heart has been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbor’s door,

and I saw among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man lacking understanding,
